Background: this company is one of the UK's leading independent data suppliers, specialising solely in the acquisition, management, maintenance and supply of data. They have built their reputation on a quality product, outstanding level of service, and an ability to deliver quickly and consistently, ensuring that client needs are always met.
Following an extensive briefing, we began by integrating Marketing Source's new design into the Joomla content management system. This required a bespoke template that had to remain compliant with XHTML and CSS standards, whilst working with all major browsers including Internet Explorer 7.
Installation of pre-written Joomla plugins came next, offering an enhanced level of editing, searching of content from the backend, and a dynamic site map for the site.
In addition to implementing existing components, we also developed a custom Flash header display module which allows individual animations to be displayed according to the content being viewed. We also created two new Joomla modules - one for the Count Request Form and another for the Newsletter Signup.
 Integration of a PHP form submission platform then followed, allowing uploaded files to be forwarded as email attachments to multiple recipients, as part of the Count Request process.
We then proceeded to develop a portfolio application, to showcase all of the data lists available from the company. This was built from the ground up using PHP and MySQL, with unique search options - and totalled more than 500 lines of code once complete.
 The project was completed with the installation and customisation of the Crafty Syntax Live Help system.
Our Verdict: This was an exciting and challenging project, giving Astetix the chance to expand the Joomla CMS beyond the typical.
